Under the slogan Ideas that work, Effie Awards Croatia spotlights projects, agencies and advertisers that raised the bar of market effectiveness. The 12th edition is no different – it has updated many elements of the competition to keep pace with societal and market changes, all of which you can learn more about below.
New categories for the new normal
Following the last year’s introduction of the categories Retail, Health, Carpe Diem and Engaged Community, which reflected the needs of today’s world, this year’s edition aims to empower and celebrate projects that achieved market effectiveness during a highly challenging period. Therefore, the following categories were introduced: Topical Marketing, Positive Change and E-commerce. The competition is open to all projects and campaigns that ran between 1 September 2019 and 31 January 2021 in Croatia. The final submission deadline has been extended to 20 March 2021.
Effectiveness during the corona crisis?
If this year has discouraged you, don’t forget about the fact that you might not have been able to affect the rise or fall of categories as a whole, but you surely could have impacted your market share. These kinds of efforts will shine bright at this year’s Effie Awards for the whole communications industry to see. – said the organizers of the competition. Find more details about the criteria and market analysis here.
Effiectiveness is key at Effie Awards – the jury will assess how different marketing elements (strategy, creativity, media, research) were employed to achieve exceptional results. The jurors will be judging the entries based on the following criteria: strategic challenge, context and set goals (23.3 %), insight and strategic idea (23.3 %), implementation (23.3 %) and results (30 %). You can learn more about the judging and read the jury’s advice here.
Give your entries some personality
You worked hard in 2020 when effective communication was imperative for market survival – why not share it with the industry! (…) The best advice I can give you is to tell a story with your entry that shows the jury what your brand is. Stick to the facts, because it is a business case after all, but also try to give it some personality with your unique point of view that is immediately associated with your brand – said Zvonimir Seki, President of the Effie 2021 jury.
If your project is versatile…
…congratulations, that is great! The jury can look at your project from multiple perspectives because the same project can be submitted to different categories – and you also get a 30 % discount when doing so!
