How loudly should we speak about the efforts invested in solving the problems of climate change, economic inequality, and all forms of injustice? Very loudly. As shown by the Edelman Trust Barometer, the public trusts the business sector more than governments. This HUOJ organized discussion will analyse why corporations and brands need to be increasingly transparent in communicating about environmental, social, and governance issues, and why the communications industry is here to continuously advise them on best practices and how to effectively convey key messages to target audiences. However, once we clearly state our achievements, do we fall into the trap of self-praise? The real work is yet to come – maintaining high standards and seeking new ways to raise them even higher.
