DK festival is back!

Dani Komunikacija

It’s been too long since the last time we saw our inspiring community, so this year DK festival – the heart of the communications industry – returns with an amazing program, relevant topics and a much-needed dose of vitamin D.

Amidst the uncertainty in Europe, we stand with everyone in Ukraine and their loved ones all around the world. Aware that in unsettling and challenging times it is imperative to continue living and working in good faith as best as possible, HURA’s agencies and DK organizers are helping the victims in various ways and contributing to the most positive outcome.

This is why DK2022 will once again, maybe more than ever, focus on achieving its purpose: navigate the industry towards progress and help create a better future from 31 March to 3 April in hotel Lone. Recognized for its unique festival program that defies expectations and inspires change, DK festival wants to continue to use its unconventional approach to win over the hearts of everyone in love with critical thinking, fresh ideas and innovative technologies.

It is hard to describe the energy of innovation and optimism that a group of incredibly talented creatives and communicators can create. We know this energy very well, and the memories we make this year will be extra precious after these last two years, said Dunja Ivana Ballon, Festival and Program Director. Our community has tackled the challenges head-on with its ingenuity, empathy and thinking outside the box – this festival is being held in your honour. We can’t wait to see you in Rovinj.

DK festival is gathering influential leaders that create a better future for our industry and society at large, including James Victore (Texas, USA), professional “hell-raiser“, author of the bestseller Feck Perfuction, MoMA & Louvre artist and designer that turns up the heat at every stage he steps on; Director EMEA at fashion house Gucci that oversees media and communications in 37 markets Maria von Scheel-Plessen (Italy); Emmy award-winning designer with millions of followers on social media Chris Do (California, USA); Merlee Jayme (The Philippines), powered by Dentsu, one of only 8 women among the 100 best Chief Creative Officers in the world; Rei Inamoto (New York City, USA), powered by Zagrebačka banka, one of the top 25 most creative people in the world by Forbes; Olga Gutiterrez de la Roza (The Netherlands), expert in cognitive, behavioural and vision science & former Global VP Design at P&G worldwide; multi-awarded public relations expert that managed one of the most awarded PR agencies in the world Prime Weber Shandwick David Orlic (Sweden); Munise Can (The Netherlands), VP Strategy Europe at Highsnobiety and former Strategy Director at VICE; founder of the creative consortium V4Good and longtime Executive Creative Director at Grey MENA Vidya Manmohan (India); Tim Leake (California, USA) coming with one of the most interesting Cannes Lions talks titled Ugly SellsRachel Lowenstein (New York City, USA), powered by GroupM, Global Head of Inclusive Innovation at Mindshare; and a true DK throwback – one of the best-reviewed speakers, illustrator and artist – Mr. Bingo is coming back. The amazing festival program in the Main Hall will be complemented by the B Hall program, to be revealed soon, which is dedicated exclusively to talks and discussions by the best Croatian leaders, award shows and ancillary content, which includes new streaming locations, one of them being on the sun-kissed beach.

Anđela Buljan Šiber, Chairwoman of HURA and member of the festival organizing committee, thanked the old and welcomed the new members of the DK community: DK festival has been unique since the very beginning. This year we are looking forward to the festival like it is a new beginning. Maybe even more. We will finally see each other in one place, be inspired by the talks and be motivated to tackle new challenges. Others also share our outburst of love – people have been patient these two years and did not withdraw their festival tickets. We feel obliged to return the favour and you can be sure that we will – we have a great program and expect refreshing and useful discussions. In the empathetic spirit of the communications industry, she also invited everyone to donate to UNICEF, our partner that is actively helping children in Ukraine.

DK festival was postponed in March 2020, mere weeks before the intended start. Find more information here.
