The best projects of the communications industry were celebrated and announced at the DK Festival in Rovinj. In the following section, check out what made the competitions’ finalists and winners stand out among all the entrants.
BalCannes
At BalCannes, which was for the first time held as a part of the DK Festival and has seen the greatest growth of the competition, by gathering the best that creativity has to offer in the five countries of our region, the agencies were able to compete in several categories of market business, and they could have won bronze, silver or gold awards for their projects within their respective categories. IDEJAX
For a total of 13 years, IdejaX has awarded ideas that push the limits, irrespective of the medium in which they are carried out on the market. This year too, applicants had opportunity to put their creative forces to the test – in no less than four competition groups:
I. Best on Market is a group of categories especially important for advertisers from various industries and business areas
II. Best of Ad-Making is especially attractive to digital experts, designers and production companies
III. Best of Branding & Rebranding which awards the best new branding campaigns, as well as the best rebranded campaigns
IV Best of Positive Change is a new group of categories dedicated to those who use the power of creativity to positively impact the world around them.
After three juries had selected the finalists, they announced the best projects among them and awarded them prestigious trophies.

I. Best on Market
In this group of categories, projects compete based on the market category in which their clients operate, thus underscoring the importance of advertisers in a competition which focuses on creativity. For any category within the group, both full, integrated campaigns and individual, unique efforts within a campaign that represent a single idea are eligible to apply (for example, TV commercials or a TVC series, prints or a series of print advertisements, pamphlets, banners etc.).

II. Best of Ad-Making
This competition group not only pays tribute to ideas, but it also celebrates the art of their realization. While the Best of Ad-Making group pays special attention to form and functionality, it never loses sight of the idea and its realization. For this reason, projects in this group of categories should demonstrate their craft of producing excellent solutions that eventually result in innovative idea realizations thanks to new and creative techniques and skills. What is more, Best of Ad-Making reflects the diversity of the communications industry as it awards a range of different techniques: from more traditional print ads to newer artistic solutions which stem from recent developments in the digital world and bring the end product to the next level.

III. Best of Branding & Rebranding
This group of categories rewards the best projects in two different categories: Branding and Rebranding. The first category includes all projects that have to do with creating and shaping a new brand or a new visual identity (name, symbol or design) for a product, service or an organization – that is projects that create an image of those brands in the eyes of customers. Partially or completely redesigned visual identities of already existing products, services or organizations fall into the category Rebranding.

IV. Best of Positive Change
Best of Positive Change celebrates the power of creativity used as a vehicle for social change. Applicants need to show how their projects have contributed to the United Nations’ 30 Sustainable Development Goals. These goals address the following topics: the planet and its people, prosperity, peace and partnership, as well as inclusion, justice and equality. Various kinds of social actions are eligible to apply in this competition group.
At IdejaX 2023, Imago Ogilvy won the title of the agency of the year followed by five agencies: Bruketa&Žinić&Grey, Studio Sonda, Señor, Design Bureau Izvorka Jurić and McCann Zagreb. The title of the advertiser of the year went to Kraš.
MIXX
At this year’s MIXX Awards Croatia, the title Best in Show went to the campaign V ZA VAGINU, which was entered in the category Corporate Social Responsibility Campaign.
The thirteenth edition of MIXX Awards Croatia continued to award the best digital campaigns, tools/platforms in the communications industry.
Different market trends, as well as investments into one’s own communication channels – from web pages to mobile apps – are mirrored in the entries to this competition. In this manner, they show that digital, either independently or as part of an integrated campaign, does make a difference in sale and to brand parameters both in the world and in Croatia.
