It’s important to note that the statues of this creativity competition have been redesigned this year, celebrating the competition’s reputation and longevity, and the new visual identity is the work of Sven Sorić, the vice president of the Croatian Designers Association, and Jelena Babić. “IdejaX is awarded to the projects whose success lies in the intersection of creative chaos and rational decision making, which meet where the left side and the right side of the brain are connected (or like the left and the right hand are intertwined). Metal and wood are the two halves of the award, whose positioning makes up the shape of the letter X. That shape isn’t clean, it is “stuck” in the middle of connecting these two surfaces – two halves of an idea – the one that is sharp and seemingly more valuable, and the one that is robust and grounding,” say the creators of this new statue, that have based it on the competition’s philosophy, as well as its aspiration for creative excellence in the service to the community – among other things, through sustainable materials also.
At the award ceremony, awards were given to the young talent of the industry. Jana Cvetko and Wana Kiiru from the Komunikacijski laboratorij with their Priče koje izuvaju iz cipela project won the hearts of the jury and deserved the Grand Prix at this year’s Young Lions Croatia powered by Elan, whose main goal for this year was to highlight new creative forces in Croatia, and also show how vital recreation is for a healthy life. These young lionesses will go to Cannes to the world festival of creativity and compete in a global competition Cannes Young Lions.
A great atmosphere at the long-awaited DK Festival has made celebrating the best ideas, young talent of the communications industry, esteemed agencies, advertisers, and individuals even more special. After the BalCannes award ceremony on the first night, and IdejaX and Young Lions Croatia on the second night; the final night of the festival is reserved for MIXX and Effie Awards Croatia award ceremonies.
