The second day of the festival attracted some of the most interesting international creatives, who have shared the secret to their success with national communications experts.
The comfort zone gives us the illusion of control, claims Rory Sutherland, one of those responsible for the interesting discussions that arose in the hotel Lone on the second day of DK2023 in Rovinj. He was joined on Friday by Media.Monk’s Main Monk from the world’s biggest creative digital production agency – Victor Knapp; Munise Can, a strategy expert from Highsnobiety; creative person of the year from faraway Japan Toshihiko Tanabe; one of the world’s leading creative technology futurists Ian Beacraft powered by Hrvatski Telekom; Mischief-Maker/Strategy Virtuoso Rob Campbell, as well as the surrealist directing duo Vallée Duhamel.

Rory Sutherland, one of the most original thinkers in the advertising industry, and wider, a TED speaker with millions of views and the author of several world-known bestsellers, shared with us on the main stage how to create flawless communication that erases lines between advertising and fun. As the founder of Ogilvy’s sophisticated approach to the behavioral economy and the nonpareil persuasion artist, he offered the audience the tried and tested psychological techniques of defining human behavior. The opposite of a good idea is another good idea, he concluded.

Munise Can spoke about business strategy and added that the key to success is not to focus on your own ego or the ego of your brand, but on the transformative power of the collective: You always have to look at the world from a unique perspective that people can’t find anywhere else. The Vice President of Strategy at Highsnobiety for the whole of Europe, and an ex-director of strategy at VICE for Western Europe, has discussed in her The New Luxury 3.0 talk how the perception of luxury develops – and what brands need to do to save their spot in the growing market cacophony.
The industrial revolution mechanized labor, and today we are digitizing skills. We are in the midst of the biggest information revolution, said Ian Beacraft powered by Hrvatski Telekom, a futurist who is known in the international community because he makes the most advanced technology, which is less known to the public, easier to understand and monetize. At the DK Festival, he talked to the community of creatives, creators, and digital people in a dynamic conversation about the future and different ways in which we will face the big development that breaks established norms and generally accepted practices – from art to social sciences.

The breaking of established norms was the topic of the talk held by the surrealist directing duo known for experimenting on the brink of logic and creating new dimensions of creativity – Julien Vallée and Eve Duhamel! The world is the playground for our ideas, they said, and opened the doors to their creative world, sharing the details of their artistic process, but also some of their original ideas.

After two successful days of the festival, the audience can expect exceptional talks on Saturday as well: the main stage will host James Whittaker, evangelist, visionary, and rockstar of the tech world; purpose pioneer Thomas Kolster powered by ENNA; the bestselling author and recovering pessimist Kristina Kuzmič powered by Priceless.com; Paul Holmes, the founder of The Holmes Report, the key report in the PR industry, and others.
