A new entry guide has just dropped! There are many new ways in which BalCannes will celebrate the best of regional communications scene. New market categories are one of them: introducing Crisis Response, Automotive and IT, as well as a whole new track Positive Change Mosaic.
BalCannes continues its mission of highlighting creative potential of the region – you can now enter your top-of-the-line creative projects! There is an official entry guide for the big regional creativity competition that will once again show its competitive face and define the communications industry of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia, as well as celebrate the best and the most original projects in the region.
The competition was officially opened for entries in Rovinj, following the presentations held by the representatives of competing countries at Weekend Media Festival where they showed the key creative trends in each country. This new edition will once again unite the region in creativity by highlighting the best communications practices.
BalCannes has become a number 1 project that represents the creative mosaic of this region, said Dunja Ivana Ballon, Member of the BalCannes Organizing Committee and Festival and Program Director of DK Festival, where BalCannes Awards Show will be held this year. We listened to the market and together with some of the best experts from the five countries we’ve defined BalCannes to be ready for the future, striving for improvement with a new category structure and a new entry guide, which are the best we’ve had so far. This project has been made for you, so don’t hesitate to enter – show everybody what you’ve got!

NEW MARKET CATEGORIES: CRISIS RESPONSE, AUTOMOTIVE, IT
In the Market Mosaic track, which awards projects in the business categories they already belong to in the market: from Food, Alcoholic Beverages, Non-alcoholic Beverages, Telecommunications, Health and Pharmacy, to the categories like Corporate Communications, three new categories were added: Crisis Response, which highlights efforts whose primary goal is to provide information, support and guidance to the affected population and stakeholders amidst a crisis; Automotive, which is for those projects that are connected to the automotive industry; and IT, a category reserved for technological innovations. There are 15 categories in this track available to the competitors.
NEW TRACK: POSITIVE CHANGE MOSAIC
When we look back at the previous BalCannes edition, one thing is very clear – regional creatives are very much focused on social responsibility. Due to a large number of high performing entries in the Social Responsibility category, there is a new track in this year’s edition: Positive Change Mosaic, with two categories: Green Impact, which celebrates efforts that have encouraged people to make greener choices and/or boosted the popularity of eco-friendly products and services incorporating environmentally conscious messaging into their marketing; and Community Care, that recognizes marketing efforts that were effective in addressing a social problem.
TWO-YEAR ELIGIBILITY PERIOD
It is possible to enter an integrated campaign, as well as parts of a campaign that represent a singular idea that was present during the two-year long eligibility period from 20 August 2021 to 16 November 2023. The entry process is extremely simple – you just need to fill out the form and attach a short video summary. If you need more information, you can find everything you need on how to enter in the BalCannes Entry Guide.
Early entry deadline is 17 October, while the late entry deadline ends on 16 November 2023. The projects will once again be judged by juries whose members will be industry professionals from agencies as well as from client side. A special jury will consist of leading regional media representatives, and they will award the best project with the BalCannes Editor’s Pick Award which grants the project a place in the BalCannes Report. When choosing jury members, Organizing Committee considers recommendations from the Expert Council.

MOSAIC OF CREATIVITY: A BIG REGIONAL REPORT
