How can creativity be free in the business world? How to stand out while remaining true to yourself — in Croatia, but also the region? These are just some of the questions that experts from the region will answer at the DK2024 in Rovinj.
The festival doors will soon open to creatives, digital experts, communicators, designers, and all lovers of creativity at DK Festival, which will gather several thousand participants at its tenth edition on 11—14 April at the Lone Hotel in Rovinj. The official festival schedule has been announced; we can once again engage in a variety of interesting discussions on topics of great importance to the industry, as well as to society as a whole, and among them, we’d like to highlight the following two segments.
THE BUSINESS OF IDEAS
Words like creativity, ideas, or design are linked by one thing — an innovative and fresh perspective. On the other hand, words like business or corporations often make us think about a world governed by money and power. But is there a possibility for these two worlds to unite? Today, creativity is recognized as a source of inspiration in the business world, yet despite this connection, the question arises as to why creativity and business are not yet on the same side. The panel The Business of Ideas brings together great visionaries from our region; moderated by Nikola Žinić (Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer, Bruketa&Žinić&Grey; HURA and IAB Croatia Member), joined by Dushan Drakalski (Executive Creative Director), Maro Pitarević (Creative Director, Real grupa; HURA and IAB Croatia Member), Janez Rakušček (Executive Creative Director, Luna\TBWA Ljubljana), Lazar Sakan (CEO, New Moment New Ideas Company), and Zvezdana Žujo (Director, Communis).
MEET YOUR NEIGHBOURS
At DK Festival in Rovinj, experts from neighboring countries gather to share the state of the communication industry in each market with participants: a ten-minute overview of the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, and Serbia will once again confirm the uniqueness and distinctiveness of each. The Meet Your Neighbours segment will focus on market data, the latest marketing trends, and their impact on the industry. Ejub Kučuk (Chairman/CEO, MITA Group) will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina; from Croatia comes Ivan Brozović (Regional Digital Business Operations Director, IPG Mediabrands SEE; HURA and IAB Croatia Member); Vladimir Mitrović (Creative Director, Ovation BBDO) will discuss creativity in Serbia; and representing the Slovenian market will be Valerija Prevolšek (Managing Director, Pristop Media, and Board Member, Slovenska oglašivačka zbornica – SOZ), showing together that creativity knows no bounds and must not have limits.
BALCANNES: THE BEST OF REGIONAL CREATIVITY
Representatives of agencies and advertisers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia will celebrate their success at the prestigious BalCannes awards ceremony, a regional creativity competition, on Thursday, April 11, starting at 9 PM. Hosts of the awards ceremony, Lela Laković, and Galeb Nikačević Hasci-Jare, will reveal which creative projects from across the region have won the hearts of the expert regional jury — and the audience will reward them with thunderous applause.
